Be Busy With Veriton Z
The current generation of workplaces is often described as minimalistic and probably even cramped with large numbers of workers in a small office to fit the ever increasing prices of office lots. To tackle this issue with style, Acer released a brand new all-in-one (AIO) desktop that comes with its own monitor, to save space while looking elegant and have a boatload of features. The Veriton Z could just be your next office workstation.
The whole AIO setup is not as thick or heavy as one would expect, as it is just slightly thicker compared to conventional monitors in the market. It also comes with a keyboard and mouse to save you the hassle and money for purchasing them separately. Setting up the monitor was pretty easy but it did require you to fasten more screws, as the base and the monitor stand are packaged separately. Once secured, all you have to do is turn on the power and plug in the peripherals. Et voila, you are ready to go.
To test out the AIO, we decided to run multiple tasks at once on the device, tabbing in and out of our word document and browser. It held up pretty well with our multitasking needs, but it did stutter every now and then when starting a new task. It does the job when it comes to daily tasks, but it will have to climb a mountain when working on graphics-intense workloads.
Right out of the box, it does have Norton and Intel Core vPro so that you can take control of the device remotely, making life easier for IT technicians and yourself when it comes to updating or accessing the PC even when it is off.
Another neat feature added to the AIO is with the Flippable Camera that can be found on top of the monitor. To use the camera, simply lift it up and video chat away. It also has a dial that enables you to flip the camera to the other side for video conferencing with the rest of the team in the room. When you are done with the conference, simply push the camera down. This is a safe and secure way to ensure that you have optimum privacy.
For companies that still utilise discs, the AIO does come with a DVD-Writer drive, an SD card reader, and a USB Type-C port on the side of the monitor. It even has a VGA and DisplayPort ports on the back of the monitor, granting you the ability to plug in additional monitors or projectors. The AIO also possesses a total of six USB ports for all your peripherals or external drives.
CHIP CONCLUDE: A decent pick-up for office workstations that only works with spreadsheets, word documents and the like, coupled with an elegant design and a fairly affordable price.
